🌋 My Dream – The Methana App

It took me many months of intensive work to fulfill my dream of developing my own app.
At first, I thought, “This will be easy” – after all, I already had countless photos, texts, maps, and material from my website.
I also bring more than 38 years of on-site experience in Methana, which I wanted to share through this app.

But soon it became clear: developing an app is far more complex than one might think – especially when you don’t have a programming team behind you and must learn everything from scratch.
The first question was: how do you even achieve your goal?
Should you use a ready-made app builder or develop everything independently?
I deliberately chose to do everything myself – from the first sketch to the final app.

I started with a rough draft, then moved on to design and navigation in Figma.
Next came the structure of the screens, and with every new feature, the complexity grew.
For nine months, I attended a course to learn the most important programming languages and development environments.
Since then, I’ve continued to learn every day, experiment with new ideas, and expand the app step by step.

🔧 The Methana App – A Growing Project

The Methana App is constantly being improved and developed.
There is no such thing as perfection in the software world – there’s always something to enhance.
That’s why your experience as a user is so valuable!
I know every button and function, but you experience the app from a user’s point of view.
If something doesn’t work or isn’t clear, your feedback helps me make the app even better.

Methana is the pilot project for future nature and volcano guide apps that will be based on my experience.

💡 Why You Should Send Me Your Email Address

If you’d like to test the Methana App, you must be added as a tester in the Google Play Console.
For that to work, your Google email address (the one you use to sign in to the Play Store) needs to be added to the official tester list.

🔒 Important:

Your email address is used only so that Google’s system can identify you as a tester.
You will receive no ads, no newsletters, and your address will not be shared or stored – it serves only this technical purpose.

Once you are added, you can download and install the Methana App directly from the Google Play Store.
