Malisa volcano Vathy

On the southern Almyra beach  the volcano Malisa rises, which was also the origin of phreatic eruptions, whose remains as pumice can be found in the western curve on the road to the Isthmus Steno . There you will also find volcanic slag ("Scoria"). Presumably there was also submarine activity not far off the coast. A smaller lava dome is located north and houses the acropolis of ancient Methanas ("Paliokastro")
