Methana town is famous for its curative thermal springs since ancient times and until 20 years ago it was a favourite destination for the people of Athens. It is not an architectural highlight due to its buildings of the 70ies in the same style like Piraus city. But still you may find nice spots and you can enjoy the café and restaurants at the sea front. You may stroll around the islet of Nisaki or have a bath in the Saronic gulf at Nisaki or Limiona beach. Even the town is not "sexy" on the first view, you may use it as an ideal base for your hiking tours or excursions in the region.
